I need to see if IKEA sells something to remind me to post semi regularly.
Things that have been going on: uh. Not a whole lot. I’m still working for the aforementioned Swedish Furniture company, dealing with our overly entitled customers. Just, damn. It’s a $5 shelf. Go forth and get ye some chill. The ones I hate getting are the ones who have been given wrong information from the delivery person (dude, you deliver furniture. That’s all I need/want you to do. I don’t even give a shit about your thriving side business of moving their other shit around and assembling the shit for cash. Just. Stop telling people that you’re going to call in their missing item. You’re not, we both know it, and I’m going to take the shit for it). They come in all pre-pissed for my pleasure.
Also, my least favorite question is “why?” As in “why did this error occur?” Intimation: “who do I want to try to get fired.” Answer: “why does it matter? It did happen, and now I’ma fix it.”
I have a new schedule starting in April where I’ll be off Saturday and Sunday, which I’m looking forward to. Downside, I’ll have to use vacation or sick time for doctor appointments, but I’ll live.
At my last psych appointment, we upped my Abilify dose to 5mg. It’s helped a lot (see also, I wrote something!) but it’s also made me more jittery and prone to overstimulation. Even with the sound deadening materials, I sometimes feel like clawing my skin off. Fortunately, IKEA is progressive, so we have what’s called a quiet room. It’s a room with some serious sound proofing that has a soft light and a nice chaise lounge. You can go use it if you need a few minutes to step away or nap for your lunch break for your migraine. The couple Muslims use it for their prayers. It’s small enough to feel enclosed and safe. I suspect that someone with sensory issues designed our buildings. There are other mostly enclosed areas that are good to sit and read, too.
Anyhow! That’s what I’ve mostly been up to. Went to tea with
poisontaster a couple of weeks ago, which was awesome. Saw Black Panther (so fucking good). Waiting for Pacific Rim 2 in two weeks. I know it’s going to be bad, but giant robots! Kaiju! Newt and Herman! Mako Mori! I’ll probably end up with a headache from the strobe-y bits, but the first one hooked me so good.
